Songs of Love & Death (Madrigals of Cipriano de Rore)

When it won the 2018 Gramophone Classical Music Award for Early Music, Blue Heron became the first ensemble from outside Europe to win in that category. This concert marks the release of its next recording, of music by Cipriano de Rore: a world-premiere recording of the complete "I madrigali a cinque voci", Rore's landmark 1542 publication.
