We have strategized on how we can safely offer collaborative workspaces in our Public Lounge and meeting rooms moving forward.
We have also been having important and honest conversations about equality. When our doors open again within the next few weeks, things will look a little different.

Tuesday, 4/28: District Hall Closure Extended Until Further Notice

Dear District Hall Community,

Today, Governor Baker announced the extension of the closure of non-essential businesses until May 18. With the stay-at-home advisory and limit on gatherings still in effect, we understand the need to put the health and safety of our guests and employees first. District Hall and our public Lounge will be closed until further notice. We will continue to monitor the state and city guidelines on reopening which will provide direction for our decision making moving forward. Our team has been busy behind the scenes pivoting our programs to fully virtual + improving our event booking processes. The free, public programs we offer to entrepreneurs and small businesses, inspiring them and connecting them to the resources they need, is vital during this time.

We encourage our community to use this time to connect virtually and keep the conversation active. We will update on our next steps once the information is available.

Thank you for your patience, compassion, and understanding during these unprecedented times.

Sunday, 3/15: District Hall moving to Modified Operation Mode

Dear District Hall Community,

As we continue to monitor the ever-changing COVID-19 virus situation, we have decided to move forward in a Modified Operation Mode.

Our public Lounge workspace will remain open with limited on-site staff present in order to ensure the safety of our team. We continue to encourage and support the work from home option when feasible, subject to your company’s policies. In the event you require a safe and remote work solution outside of your home to support your business-critical continuity plans, we have taken steps to limit the number of available seats in the Lounge to support social distancing protocols.

We have and will continue to take the necessary precautions to operate a safe and clean public Lounge along with clean, private meeting spaces for anyone that has made a request to use the space during this time. Our private conference rooms are available as Last Minute Meeting Space for any video/virtual meetings you may want to hold. These rooms are available 9 AM – 4 PM Monday – Friday and can be booked on our website under the Book The Space section.

At this time, we have no reports of COVID-19 related to our public space at District Hall. If you have visited our space and have been diagnosed with COVID-19, please inform the proper authorities and they can take the appropriate steps to inform our organization.

We continue to monitor the situation with the City of Boston and the State of Massachusetts and will update accordingly.

We encourage you to become familiar with the World Health Organization’s suggested safety precautions.

Thank you for your patience, compassion, and understanding during these concerning times.

Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Saturday – Sunday 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Brew Cafe

The onsite cafe, Brew, will be closed starting on Monday, 3/16/20.

In light of Brew being closed, you are welcome to bring your own outside coffee, tea, and other necessities to the Lounge.

Space Etiquette

If you are symptomatic of an illness, from the common cold to the flu, please refrain from coming to the workspace and Lounge. If you appear overtly ill, you may be asked to come back at a later time. This is all in the spirit of keeping everyone as healthy as we can.

We will be encouraging social distancing and recommending that all guests in the Lounge sit one meter (3 feet) apart.

District Hall Cleanliness Actions

Our goal is to help the entire District Hall community and staff stay safe and healthy.

  • District Hall will continue to be professionally cleaned each day.
  • We perform additional cleanings of common-area surfaces and high-traffic areas throughout the day.
  • We have installed foot pulls in the restrooms so you can open doors hands-free.
  • We have installed additional hand sanitizer dispensers in our meeting spaces.

Help Us Help You

Here are the things you can do to slow the spread of this disease:

  • If you have visited our space and have been diagnosed with COVID-19, please inform the proper authorities and they can take the appropriate steps to inform our organization.
  • Take your temperature before coming to our space.
  • Stay home and self-quarantine for 14 days if you have symptoms / exposure risk. The symptoms to watch for are fever of 99.14+, cough, or shortness of breath.
  • Go home if you develop COVID-19 symptoms during the day.
  • Wash your hands frequently + don’t touch your face.
  • When coughing and sneezing, cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue – discard tissue immediately.
  • Replace meetings and visits with video.
  • Spread out in our workspace to maintain social distancing.
  • Avoid shaking hands.

Please know that these decisions have been made with measured and careful thought, as we look for ways to reduce as much risk as possible while still maintaining the integrity of our space.

We continue to monitor the situation with the City of Boston and the State of Massachusetts and will update accordingly.

We encourage you to become familiar with the World Health Organization’s suggested safety precautions.

Thank you for your patience, compassion, and understanding during these concerning times.
