From San Francisco to Austin, Miami to New York, FWD.us has enlisted thousands from our community to roll up our sleeves, get engaged, and communicate to lawmakers the urgent need for immigration reform. Despite the overwhelming public support for commonsense solutions, Congress has refused to act, so we at FWD.us are renewing our commitment to improve the political process by rallying the tech community to the cause.
At FWDMonthly, Malia Lazu and Devin Cole discuss how tech can better collaborate with government staff and foster forward-thinking approaches to solving urban issues.
After completing a two year fellowship at MIT, Malia Lazu joined Future Boston with over two decades of experience establishing grassroots advocacy in political advocacy and civic engagement. She is now the Executive director at Future Boston. She has received recognition for her work on MTV, Showtime, ABC-TV’s Chronicle, Fox News, and in print publications such as Newsweek, The Boston Globe, and Boston Magazine.
Devin Cole is the Director of Business Development for the Workbar Network, where he builds partnerships that extend workspace options for Workbar’s 700+ members. Outside of Workbar, Devin spends his time with several civic or entrepreneurship focused organizations. He is cofounder of Boston Now, Founding President of the Associate Board at MassINC, primary organizer for Boston Young Entrepreneurs, and on several other boards in Boston and Cambridge.
