Opening Day: 10 Ideas for the Future

We’ve been running events in soft launch mode here at District Hall since July, but today is our grand opening! The carpet is installed, IdeaPaint is up, Gather and Brew are open and serving food…all the basics are set to go. Phew.
Of course, now the real work begins. The space here is a flexible platform for lots of different types of events and activities. Here’s 10 ideas for stuff that could happen here-if you have more ideas or want to help with something you see here, send us an email.
1. Office hours with innovation experts: the District Hall lounge is a perfect spot for coffee meetings with mentors and experts. If you or someone you know wants to set up some office hours, send us an email.
2. Social-impact programming: Calling all social entrepreneurs! If you have an innovative social-impact project, from teaching kids to code to rethinking civic engagement, let us know how we can help.
3. Demonstrations and performances: We all need a little inspiration! District Hall can be a great venue for exploring artistic innovation from theater to art to dance to fashion to music and beyond.
4. Technology testing: If you have a new product or technology and you’re looking for a place to try it out, let us know! We’d love to see how we can help get you the feedback you need to push your idea forward.
5. Pop-up retail: Our pods are set up to support mini-retail concepts, so if you’re considering going brick-and-mortar, District Hall might be the right place to test it out.
6. Dance breaks for entrepreneurs: We know it’s hard work building ideas into reality. Sometimes, you just need to bust a move! [Hey DJs–if you want to work with us on any of our events, drop us a line!]
7. Podcasts + video recording: Audio and video content streams can help you personally connect with your audience. Set up your microphone at District Hall and broadcast from Boston’s new home for innovation.
8. Workshops + training sessions: Are you an SEO expert looking to share your skills? Got a bunch of new employees that need to get up to speed? We’ve got spaces that can work for you.
9. Exhibitions: This one is for the designers. We have great display space for longer-term design and art installations. If you’d like to help us build out some exhibitions and displays for the building, let us know.
